Day 11: Five reasons why you would never stop listening to music.
+ One is because there are current artists in the game right now making great music that still continues to amaze
+ Second is the opposite reason, the new artists that are only just beginning. The new talent and innovation of sound and lyrics. I always love to see a new artist hit it big, especially if i have been following them since their mixtape days.
+ Music for me is inspiration, whenever I do anything!
+ Fourth is because I have a need to always be in the know of new and good music. I have to get the latest tracks on my iPod, i need to. I guess I have a OCD for it, you should see how neatly organised my itunes library is…
+ Lastly music is my drug, my drive/inspiration to live everyday life. It makes me happy! :)
To some up this question with one equation. Music = Life.
Music is the beat that moves with your heart, it makes your body + mind feel the story that is being told. Whether it is just a melody or a song with verses. Music is a drug for my ears. Music can express emotions better than anyone or anything can. Simply, without it I’d be a lost soul.
Even when i am not listening to music there always seems to be a melody or lyrics stuck in my head - which i love as it gets me through long days at school; i’ll have it in my mind playing over in my head when i am not able to play it at the time.
Music can be my art, release, inspiration and therapy. Sometimes all this in just one song. There are genres to suit all emotions and feelings that i may have. I try to keep my music taste broad so that i am able to admire all aspects of music - from orchestral and alternative to pop and urban.
I could not imagine my life or this world with out the sound of music.
I have been posting a lot of music related posts lately, I hope y’all don’t mind haha. Can’t help it, a lot of quality music is dropping these days that I just got to share.
(please excuse this overemotional paragraph)
Well right now we are on the eve of my 18th birthday! 18 years living! 216 months! That’s 6 574 days on this Earth! I really cannot believe i am going to be legal from tomorrow onwards… It’s daunting. I can now buy alcohol, cigarettes, porn, go to clubs, venues, concerts (over18) and get a debit card… all legally now! It’s crazy, a step forward into adult life. With whatever innocence i had left in me being tarnished from tomorrow onwards. I AM AN ADULT! (although some may say 21 is considered an adult) I may be being a tad dramatic considering i wont feel any different in a couple of hours when the clock hits midnight. I see this as one chapter of my life ending and a new one that I’m only just entering, is about to begin.
As for birthday plans Tomorrow is a going to be a quiet dinner with the fam, perhaps at a restaurant (Mexican or Indian cuisine?) And i am going to blow out my candle lit Strawberry Cheesecake (oh god).
Then next Saturday is a day out in the city with close friends to go rock climbing and then dinner at this great Asian restaurant i have in mind, and we going to take photos photos photos! Should be a great day :)
Well this should be an exciting time! I am happy to be turning 18 and the challenges it will bring! Come on LIFE! show me what you have to offer! Bring it!
Over the past three decades, Stussy has matured with the culture around us. From surf to skate, street art to DJ’ing, punk to hip-hop and dub to dance-hall, these elements of style have evolved from underground subcultures into lifestyles.
Since 1980, from New York to London to Tokyo to Los Angeles and everywhere in between, the Stussy Tribe continued to grow.
After 30 years they still fresh as hell - one of my all time favourite shops! :)
A great example of a heavily manufactured song created by the media. A song that has no other meaning than to be drunk/stupid and fight till we see the sunlight. Other than the song sounding like complete trash and teeny-bopper ish, Ke$ha herself looks like a washed up tramp, if that’s the look she was going for she nailed it (pun unintended). I hope this is the highpoint of her career because i myself and some may agree that they don’t want to hear any more of her garbage being overplayed to the point of you losing all control and just RAGE! (not like i would of…)
[Background talking] (I know, I know but I gotta get up outta here, You know, I gotta go pay these bills, I got a show to do, you know?)
One time, for your mind.
[Chorus] Let’s go to sleep in Paris, And wake up in Tokyo. Have a dream in New Orleans, Fall in love in Chicago, Mayne. Wherever I go she goes.
Then we can land in the motherland, Camelback across the desert sand. Take a train, to Rome, or home, Brazil, forreal. Wherever I go she goes. Wherever I go she goes.
[Verse 1] I love her And I hate to leave her lonely Ring ring went the Iphone, it was my homie He said, “let’s hit Japan, If we can make ‘em jam, We can make a hundred grand, Spend it in the south of France Nothing further.” I jumped, Grabbed my go-yard trunk, Got ready to ‘walk it out,’ like Unk In my John Lennon chucks. That’s when I heard Murder You’re killin me, you’re fillin me With sorrow, sunrise, “goobye“‘s, And “missin you tomorrow“‘s. I turn to see my dream Love supreme queen, meanest thing on the scene, cry. I drop my bags in a flash That’s faster one eighty on that dash-er, To dry your tears. And wipe the rain from my dear like dash-er, Use the dame who’s the username to all my pass-words. The reason I get fly as Ivan Jasp-er, I even keep your picture in my pass-purt. (love love)
[Verse 2] So let’s keep it, real, All in’t together, “free chill!” Tell the stewardess to throw a movie, on the reel. Heat up my kosher meal, exchange my dollar bills, Lean back in my first-class seat, and sleep. Don’t wake me till I land, when they barely understand What I speak, but they nod to my beats. I tell my fans who I am and they stand and they clap They applaud. They love me, my God. "O’scadie sama’desta" or maybe "au revoir," "A spree on Saint Henry," then back to Charles de Gaul. So I can get home and tell her everywhere that I been, And, everything that I done, and, Tell her that she’s the one, and, um.
[Verse 3] Uh. Guess who’s back in the, house, With a bunch of souvenirs, and a smile for your mouth. I really missed you, each and every night I kissed you In my dreams, ‘fore I went to sleep, to La-La land to count them sheep. I swear you’re lookin prettier than ever, It’s got to be a prophecy for us to stay together ever more. For better or, less or poor, all worth the wait in buried treasure X’s on the shore. I know my world tour’s like war to you, But Ian said, “Aloha,” and Harley said, “Cheers!” Julian said, “Bonjour!,” Big O was like “Yeahhhhh!” Amanda and Lemessie want to know when we goin there. Edison sends his love, so does the rest of the club Of the international play-boys and play-girls. But I revoke my membership, all for My Tenderness, She said, “Pursue your interests, ‘cause even If I’m ticketless, I’ll be there, by your side, In your heart and, on your mind.” So, as I taxi down another runway, I gotcha, who loves you babe Now bring it back, now, uh.
This weekend is already looking out to be the busiest yet in a while for me…
18th party/s (i must choose one to go to!)
Swinburne Uni Open day (need to ask questions and get an application kit)
Movies with fam
Somewhere this weekend i should be getting a haircut - possibly Friday though. Also i have to squeeze study time, but i will really think i need to take something out this weekend. Whether the movies or the party… but honestly i know i will just keep both and get screwed over for Monday - yay! Haha Monday classes start a bit later anyway so i could always get some work done during that time as i will wake up at the usual time that morning. Let’s see how things pan out…
